About Barry Motors

Barry Motors have been in business since 1988 when the BMW franchise became available from Motor Imports Ltd and since then, grown and evolved like no other dealership in the country. After initially setting up and trading at the Coen Complex, Headford Road in 1988, they later moved the business down the road to a state of the art showroom at Galway Retail Park in January 1994.

In January 1999, Barry Motors moved yet again to Motorpark where all the franchises in the Higgins group were combined at one premises on the Headford Road. This moved the business of selling and servicing vehicles up to a new higher level of quality. Motorpark has improved the overall perception of the Irish Motor Industry and creates an image that fits very well with the products Barry Motors sells.

On the ‘one purpose’ built premises, customers can choose from a Ford Mitsubishi or SEAT from Higgins of Galway and an Executive Line car from Barry Motors. Our premises was the first of it’s kind in Europe but still remains key to the success of our company. Our workshop with more than twenty work bays must cope with the demand for vehicle servicing that arises from successfully managing our franchises and as an authorised BMW Service and Parts Agent must meet the standards of excellence set out by BMW. Our workshop boasts some of Irelands most qualified technicians with one of only two BMW Master Technicians leading our team of technicians.

Our parts department that stocks over 23, 000 part numbers while wholesaling parts throughout Ireland and a used car centre with a huge range of 150 cars to choose from. This operation takes over seventy people operating in a constantly fluctuating economy.

Since 1999 we have seen the Irish economy fluctuate as a result of our membership of the EU and Ireland’s adoption of the Euro. Motor vehicles remain, in my opinion one of the most valuable personal assets for all of society, providing freedom to explore our beautiful country and enabling business to reach into every town and hamlet in Ireland. With the Irish economy operating at an impressive annual growth rate of 4% and the economic outlook for the short to medium term optimistic the motor industry in turn looks set to respond to strong consumer demand for high quality motor vehicles in particular increased demand for luxury vehicles backed by a very personally focused customer service. Barry Motors Motorpark membership of the Society of the Irish Motor Industry’s board of the national executive ensures issues such as traffic, infrastructure and the environment are continuously discussed with government bodies. We are dedicated to ensuring the impact of the motor industry in Ireland on the every day motorist is a positive one.

People have said to me that Barry Motors Motorpark is a mould breaker, and we believe it is. We have invested in size and scale that allow us to generate the revenues necessary for continuous re-investment but most of all it allows us to provide a more attractive environment for today's discerning motorist to shop in.
